The Trager® Approach is the innovative approach to movement education, created and developed over a period of 65 years by Milton Trager, M.D. Utilizing gentle, non-intrusive, natural movements, the Trager® Approach helps release deep-seated physical and mental patterns and facilitates deep relaxation, increased physical mobility, and mental clarity. These patterns may have developed in response to accidents, illnesses, or any kind of physical or emotional trauma, including the stress of everyday life.

There are two aspects of The Trager® Approach: the first, usually referred to as the "table work," you, the client, lie fully clothed on a well-padded table in a safe, comfortable environment while your body is supported and gently moved within its pain-free range and natural rhythm.

The second aspect of the Trager® Approach, called Mentastics, involves instruction in the use of self-care movements. Dr. Trager developed these simple, effortless movements to encourage playful exploration of "what could be freer" for your body. Integrating Mentastics into your daily life will allow you to enhance and recall feelings of ease, freedom, flexibility and joy. Mentastics can become part of the way you take care of yourself and relieve stress and tension.
