Early in my career as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, working both in NYC and Europe, my interest to continue moving with ease and expression led me to the Trager® Approach and Continuum Movement. While on faculty at the Swedish Dance College in Stockholm Sweden in ‘89, I began my studies with Trager. Moving back to the States in ‘90, I continued my dance career, teaching dance and yoga at the University of Massachusetts Dance Degree Program. I became a Certified Trager® Practitioner in ’91 and a Certified Pilates Instructor in ’92.

As my life continued to expand I married and gave birth to my daughter, which was a major turning point in my life and career in ‘94. It was during my pregnancy, that I was first introduced to Continuum Movement by my doula. My little experience of Continuum Movement aided greatly with the complications I experienced birthing my daughter. Within two years, I was at a Continuum Movement weeklong workshop with Emilie Conrad. I knew at that workshop, back in ‘96, that I would teach the work. I also knew the enormity and responsibility of carrying the work. I became an Authorized Continuum Movement Teacher in 2002 and that same year and literally same week, I was ordained at St John the Divine Cathedral in NYC, an Interfaith Minister.

In 2004 I began a mentorship with Dr. Gary David that continues today, studying Epistemics and Affect Psychology. I have developed a workshop, titled “Transforming Shame, through the lens of affect” co-taught with my husband, Mark Hoch MD at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis ’09.

I am grateful to all my teachers: Emilie Conrad, Milton Trager MD, Susan Harper, Gary David, Rick Gutierrez, Deane Juhan, my fellow colleagues, and all my students!

I am in private practice, working with clients in person, by phone and in group settings. And when my weekends are not filled with weddings, I might be throwing pottery, hiking, spending time with my family, or off to the ocean!
